Opening Topic: Should the North Devon Junior tournament be moved to another date?

To mark the opening of TALK Tennis, the forum's coordinators have posed the following question:

Should the North Devon Junior tournament [held at the same time as the Senior Tournament in September] be moved to another date and therefore separated from the senior event?

Has somebody the time and enegy to commit to an extra week of organised tennis plus I agree with Denise' comment which is very relevant for familys and an opportunity for juniors to mix with seniors

I think that the North Devon tournament for juniors should stay in september. I feel that having played lots of tournaments all over Devon this summer it was really nice to finish the season back on familier soil. It also nice for the older kids like my self to be able to play in adult and junior events giving us a good contrast of experience playing and watching the top adult players.

I think junior and senior tournament work well together. Most Junior matches this year took place either at the weekends or at 6.00pm in the evenings. It's great to have the adults and children hanging out together and having a chance to watch each others' matches. Keep it as it is and publicize it more.

More juniors would play if the tournament was during the day, evening matches are not ideal for the younger kids.
